Anyone has any problems with recognising currencies? I mean of course it is not hard to tell apart US$ from S$ though i personally found it troublesome to distinguish the different values in US$.
Anyway in one sleepy evening, i am settling the bill of a customer. I got a green $5 dollar bill. It know it look weird, but somehow it did not register to me to check it. I may thought that it is a new plastic notes for $5 (do we have that in $5 or we just have it in 10???) or perhaps thought it was Brunei currency.
Only upon end of the day then i realise i got a ringgit instead! It is not the value of the money that was loss that concern me. Rather I find it rather amazing how the brain can kinda of registered the difference, but yet somehow another part of it like to make an assumption and let it pass. It is like having 2 separate brain working independently, kinda of like as if it is a angel and devil scenario...
Angel: Eh you blind meh, that note looks different...
Devil: No lar it is the new Singapore plastic notes.
Angel: Hello, the Singapore model on the note is quite yan dao one leh.
Devil: Aiya no issue lar, even not Singapore currency, definitely must be Brunei, so one for one lar.
